Sometimes, we’re going on along in life, doing the normal life thing. We’re working, buying cars and houses, having kids – you know, the normal stuff. Maybe we have a hobby or two or three. We spend a lot of time playing video games, camping, buying camera equipment (and taking pictures), or whatever we’re into.
Then all of a sudden we have this event happen – a close friend or family member dies, we have a major medical emergency, or we’re in some sort of accident. The event passes, but it makes us question everything we’ve been doing. Most everything we’ve been pursuing suddenly seems meaningless, and we wonder if we’re investing our life in the right places.
Some people haven’t had such an event – they haven’t had a “value earthquake” in their life.
Today we’re just asking: Have you had a “value earthquake” event in your life? What happened? What changed in you? Are you still coming to grips with your event?
Tell us about it so others can benefit from your experience.
