What To Bring
One of the “take aways” for the Break Free workshop is an actual spending plan you can use the following month. In order to be able to create a workable spending plan, you will need to know how much you are spending for most of your bills.
There are 3 options for bringing this information to the workshop: bringing your past bills, bringing your past statements, and bringing your computer (with login information for your online account access).
The other “take away” for the Break Free workshop is a plan for gettng out of debt. For this, you should bring information on your debts such as: total amount owed (pay off amount), payment amount, value of the item purchased (if loan is on a specific item such as a car).
The following is a list of what to bring (with the 3 options). Don’t freak out if you can’t bring everything. Just bring what you can.
The List:
- 1-3 mo. of paycheck stubs
- Your calendar of events/appointments for the last year
- 13 mo. of check register entries for all bank accounts
- List of debts: total owed, monthly payment, value of item (if one item)
- A calculator
- Pencil and eraser
Items from one of the three options below:
Option 1
- 3 mo statements: bank & credit
- Bills for the following items
Monthly, Variable Amount
- Utilities: electricity, gas, phones, water, trash
- (largest), Winter (largest), Spring/Fall (typical)
Non-Monthly
- Auto: registration, smog check, maintanence & repair
- Property Taxes
- Insurance: auto, home, life, health, disability, Long term care, etc
- School expenses: supplies, pictures, feild trips, fund raisers, tuition, books, etc
- Kid’s activities: sports, music, etc
- Medical: Dr visits, tests & lab work, medications, dental, optometry, etc
- Subscriptions & Memberships: magazines, professional associations, amazon prime, costco, identity theft protection, etc
- Services: pest control, lawn care, etc
- Personal: Hair care, cosmetics, massages, nail care, clothing
- Charitable giving
Option 2
- A laptop with online login information to check statements online
- 13 mo of check register entries for all bank accounts
Option 3
- 13 mo statements: bank & credit
- 13 mo of check register entries for all bank accounts
